Film, fumetti, pubblicità fanno parte del settore commerciale, rafforzando l’immagine delle figure emblematiche (Sandokan, Corsaro Nero), mentre un nuovo impegno critico si manifestò in ricerche e saggi notevoli.

This publication, consisting of four illustrated volumes, narrates the fortunes of Emilio Salgari while trying to debunk and analyze an extraordinary cultural phenomenon (1883-2012). The developments that took place in the mid-twentieth century exacerbated existing paradoxes and gave rise to fraudulent publishing initiatives while encouraging a serious and in-depth critique. Emblematic figures like Sandokan and the Black Corsair were popularized by films, comics, and advertisements, while a renewed critical interest translated into remarkable essays and research.
