Dieser Band zur Philosophie im deutschsprachigen Raum von 1830 bis 1870 behandelt neben einem Uberblick zur Philosophiegeschichtsschreibung in ihrer klassischen Epoche zwischen Hegel und Windelband vor allem die groaen Debatten der Zeit – so etwa zur Logik, Psychologie, Naturphilosophie, Rechtsphilosophie, spekulativen Asthetik und zum Materialismus – wie auch die Vorbereiter von zukunftigen Schul- und Netzwerkbildungen, zu denen unter anderem Trendelenburg, Lotze, Fechner, Marx und Engels zu zahlen sind. Der Band ist der zweite von drei Teilbanden zur Philosophie im deutschsprachigen Raum, die zusammen den Ankerpunkt der Grundriss-Reihe Die Philosophie des 19. Jahrhunderts bilden. Die beiden weiteren Teilbande sind den Zeitraumen 1800 bis 1830 und 1870 bis 1914/18 gewidmet. Die Reihe zum 19.
