At the end of the Middle Ages, theatre participated in the same process of Christian acculturation as oration did. Despite being fundamentally dissimilar, orators and actors shared asavoir-faireparticular to those professions of the spoken word, which ranged from rhetorical mastery in the vulgar language to the art of performance.
