English summary: This book focuses on the political history of Late Republican Rome between the rise of Gaius Marius and the death of Lucius Cornelius Sulla (100-78BC). It is an introduction to the dramatic events of the years that began the Roman world’s long, turbulent transition from Republic to Empire.
