Vor 70 Jahren wurde in der Nacht zum 27. Juli 1943 der Hamburger Feuersturm entfacht: Unter dem Namen Operation Gomorrha geplante Bombardements der britischen Royal Air Force und der amerikanischen Luftwaffe legten grosse Teile Hamburgs in Schutt und Asche. Zehntausende Menschen starben, mehr als Hunderttausend wurden verletzt. Diese Erfahrung hat sich tief in das Gedachtnis der Stadt und der darin lebenden Menschen eingebrannt, doch wie werden die Erinnerungen daran uber die Generationen tradiert? Psychoanalytiker und Historiker befragten Zeitzeugen und ihre Familien, um den personlichen und familiaren Nachwirkungen des Krieges bis heute nachzuspuren und an diesem Beispiel die langfristige Verarbeitung von traumatischen Kriegserfahrungen zu untersuchen.
