Since its inception as a field in the 19th century, psychology as it is now offered at universities has made great efforts to become a quantitative discipline on par with the natural sciences.

English summary: Psychology as the field established at University today has, since its inception in the 19th Century, taken great pains to appear as a natural science. Manfred Velden shows that this did not lead to psychology beeing a quantitative science comparable to the natural sciences, but rather to a masquerade as one, i.e. applying natural scientific methodology without producing valid results. The application of this kind of science have not rarely been disastrous, for example in the context of immigration policy, compulsory sterilisation, access to University, or in the discussion about mental differences between races.
