Non content de deployer une ecriture du contretemps a rebours des conventions et des normes, il cultive un art de la contradiction qui exploite a la fois les ressorts explicites et implicites des textes. Verlaine elabore une parole instable, palinodique et polyphonique, pour surprendre les lecteurs tout en les confrontant a leur liberte interpretative.
