Review - French Ce livre deconstruit un ensemble d'idees recues sur l'identite nationale et le multiculturalisme. Instrumentalises politiquement, ces termes ne peuvent plus etre employes innocemment sans interroger de maniere critique leur sens et leur relation. Souvent mal comprises, leurs significations varient d'un contexte culturel a l'autre. Le multiculturalisme est ainsi percu au Canada comme un pilier de l'identite nationale qui favorise la participation politique, alors qu'en France il est vu comme un danger pour l'unite de la nation. Cette enquete sociopolitique revient sur les mythes entourant les representations de l'identite nationale en France, au Canada et au Quebec et analyse leurs effets sur le sentiment d'exclusion des minorites.
