On the other hand, the authors reproduce the Persian inscriptions and provide their translation as well as an identification of the depicted individuals. Doch auch unter den Herrschern der Qajarendynastie des 19. Jahrhunderts entstanden Felsreliefs, die an die vorislamischen Traditionen anknupfen. In dem Band werden diese bedeutenden Monumente der Qajarenzeit erstmals systematisch erschlossen. Die Autoren betten die Reliefs in ihren geschichtlichen und politischen Kontext ein. Zudem geben sie die persischen Inschriften wider und liefern deren Ubersetzung sowie eine Identifizierung der dargestellten Personen.
