Des romancieres sous la Restauration
Genre et reception
by Amelie Legrand, consultant editor Pierre Glaudes
In literary history, the Bourbon Restoration is associated with a female sentimental novel that is less worthy of attention than the realist novel that emerged around 1830. This work, which analyzes the reception of the period’s female novelists, attempts to measure the impact of gender relations on their aesthetic choices.
