Die Frage, ob der Jakobusbrief Bezuge auf die Jesusuberlieferung aufweist und wie diese Bezuge zu bewerten sind, ist nach wie vor Gegenstand kontroverser Diskussionen. Mit der Ruckfrage nach einer moglichen Kenntnis des ursprunglichen Kontextes der verschiedenen Einzeluberlieferungen fuhrt Achim Peter uber den Forschungsstand hinaus. Fur die Parallelen zur Q-Uberlieferung ergeben sich unter dieser Perspektive durchgangig Hinweise auf eine Kenntnis vorlukanischer Uberlieferungszusammenhange. Zudem kann eine blockweise Rezeption von Sondergutuberlieferungen des Matthausevangeliums im Jakobusbrief wahrscheinlich gemacht werden. Die umfassende Rezeption von Herrenworten im Jakobusbrief, aber auch in anderen Uberlieferungskontexten (Paulus, Joh), legt nahe, dass die Rolle und die Bedeutung von Jesusuberlieferung im Urchristentum einer grundlegenden Neubewertung bedarf.
