Schwabe Verlagsgruppe AG is the world’s oldest printing and publishing house, founded in 1488 in Basel by Johannes Petri. Subjects include philosophy, history, art history, classical and literary studies, musicology, linguistics and medicine. In addition to multifarious monographs, Schwabe publishes a variety of series, journals and yearbooks, as well as scholarly editions and major reference works.
