In den Brennpunkt-Analysen in diesem Band werden Katastrophen, Krisen und Verlusterfahrungen zum Ausgangspunkt des Erzählens über Frauen, deren Lebensgeschichten durch eine Gratwanderung zwischen Unterwerfung und Selbstermächtigung geprägt sind. In die Gegenwart der betroffenen Akteurinnen spielen bestimmte Gemengelagen ›historischer Wirklichkeiten‹ und vergangener generations- und geschlechtsspezifischer Identitätskonzepte mit dazugehörigen Diskursformationen hinein. Es handelt sich um drei Künstlerinnen – Geraldine Denner als Opernsängerin, Nelia Fehn als Schriftstellerin und Selma Brechthold als Dramaturgin –, die irreparable Verluste sowie verschiedene existenzbedrohende Deklassierungsformen erfahren und diese auf je eigene Art und Weise zu verarbeiten versuchen, um neue Wege zu gehen.
In these focus analyses in this volume, catastrophes, crises, and experiences of loss become the starting point for narratives about women whose life stories are characterized by a tightrope walk between subjugation and self-empowerment. The present lives of these women are shaped by a complex interplay of historical realities and past generational and gender-specific identity concepts, along with their associated discursive formations. The three women—Geraldine Denner as an opera singer, Nelia Fehn as a writer, and Selma Brechthold as a dramaturge—experience irreparable losses and various forms of existential threats to their social standing, and each attempts to process these experiences in her own way in order to forge new paths.
