Das Neue gibt zu denken, das gilt schon fur die Einordnung und Bestimmung des Begriffs des Neuen selbst. Das Neue ist eine zentrale Botschaft der Bibel, sowohl des Alten als auch des Neuen Testaments. Die Rede von einem neuen Bund und einer neuen Schopfung qualifiziert das Gottesverhaltnis des Menschen, seiner Mit- und Umwelt. Sie verheisst nicht nur den neuen Menschen, sondern auch einen neuen Himmel und eine neue Erde. Die Beitrage des vorliegenden Bandes beleuchten diese unterschiedlichen Dimensionen der Rede vom Neuen aus theologischer Perspektive. Zwei exegetische Beitrage von Friedhelm Hartenstein und Jens Schroter untersuchen die Thematik des Neuen, wie sie im Alten Testament als nachexilische Kategorie entwickelt wird und im fruhen Christentum sich in der Frage, was neu ist am christlichen Glauben, darstellen lasst. Zwei systematisch theologische Beitrage von Heiko Schulz und Notger Slenczka schliessen sich an mit einer Analyse der Diskursfelder und Kernprobleme der Kategorie des Neuen und einer sprachphanomenologischen Durchleuchtung der theologischen Implikationen des Neuen als Neuwerden. English summary: The new gives food for thought, even when it comes to categorising and defining the term new itself. The ‘new’ is a central message of the Bible, both the Old and the New Testament. The talk of a new covenant and a new creation qualifies the relationship between man and God, his fellow human beings and his environment. It promises not only the new man, but also a new heaven and a new earth. The contributions in this volume shed light on these different dimensions of the talk of the new from a theological perspective. Two exegetical contributions by Friedhelm Hartenstein and Jens Schroter examine the theme of the new as it is developed in the Old Testament as a post-exilic category and as it can be represented in early Christianity in the question of what is new about the Christian faith. Two systematic theological contributions by Heiko Schulz and Notger Slenczka follow with an analysis of the fields of discourse and core problems of the category of the new and a linguistic-phenomenological examination of the theological implications of the new as becoming new.
